Project Brief: 

Having worked previously with PhoneDevil on their packaging for Magic Screen screen protectors, we were approached to create packaging for their new iPad range.

Our Approach: 

Using our knowledge of the clients products and our experience gained from previous projects, the challenge was to get the packaging into production for the looming launch of the iPad. After further consultation, a tight working schedule was set in place to meet the launch date.

Results: 

The resulting design takes the form of a wallet with a ‘locking’ device made from 420gsm matte stock, enclosing a Mirco Flute protective inlay, which also featured printed appliance instructions. Different production techniques were used to bring a premium quality to the packaging and to pull forward features of the product. These included spot varnishes and embossing with debossed details on the device.

The packaging also featured constructed product imagery, built in-house due to the product not being available. It was key for the packaging that the product imagery was ‘life like’ as it was the focus visually.

The overall packaging design is bright and impactful, using production techniques to be engaging with the consumer, making it a sought after product for one of the hottest gadgets to date.
