Background: 

Gizzi is a chef, food writer, television presenter and all round food genius. She is best known for presenting Channel 4’s Cook Yourself Thin, of which there is a bestselling book of the same title, which she co-wrote.

Project Brief: 

With our new relationship established with Marketing & communications consultants, Be Different, our first working collaboration was the concept and design of a new micro site for the British Eggs recipes website. The micro site aimed to showcase the talents of celebrity chef Gizzi Erskine, featuring recipes, videos, competitions, a blog and even more recipes.

Our Approach: 

We always like to research our subject before we start any project and this was no different. After gaining further understanding of the overhaul of the subject 'Meals in Minutes', a creative buzz began to form within the studio. We wanted to design a site that represented Gizzi's personality, the subject and that achieved all the necessary specifications without sacrifice on a creative aspect. Working through several concepts, collating the collective thoughts of the tea*m and Be Different, a final concept was chosen to develop.

Results: 

The site combines a rustic and traditional approach using the 'table top' background, complemented by the pastel colour palette, cute illustrations and strong typography, all lends the design to echo the quirky personality of Gizzi Erskine and has a friendly informative feel. The website gives users the chance to explore through a series of portals taking you through to sections and related articles, along with the basic navigation also features a carousel scrolling through the many recipes, creates a layered and immersive experience. A simple logo with lock up device was designed to bring a further branded element to the site along side clean photography.

This was a real team effort and we are very proud of the resulting design and hard work both parties put in to deliver a website that achieves its goal in all its egg-tastic glory.
