Project Details
Background:

Maxitone is a product range designed for healthy, active women, to aid toning and weight management.

Maxinutrition is the parent company of Maximuscle, Maxifuel and Maxitone, and is owned by GlaxoSmithKline. They are Europe’s leading sports nutrition company.

Project Brief:

Our brief was to design a microsite announcing the launch of Maxitone’s ‘Tone on Tour’ where weight loss experts are available to give advice, demonstrate products and motivate women to get the body they desire.

Our Approach:

The deadline was incredibly tight for this, in what has to be the busiest time of the year in marketing. We opted for a static website, without the commitment of a CMS system. We looked at Maxitone’s current branding in both online and offline situations and implemented design styles accordingly in a way that made the site both very usable and accessible.

The client expressed a desire for social integration, so we built a Facebook landing page, similar in design to the microsite, but stripped down in content. We also added social networking widgets that gave users a live feed to their Twitter and Facebook interactions, and a live map via Google Maps.

Results:

The result is an attractive, approachable website that is practical. It is informative and gives the users digestible information without being too aggressive in its marketing approach. The site design is subtly feminine and looks sophisticated. The headline typography is bold, fun and sexy.

Be Different
Project Details
Background:

Be-Different are marketing and communications consultants with vast experience in the digital space. They approached us to be their creative partners to help them get them through the tendering stages at the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) so they could achieve some secure contracts over the next three years.

Project Brief:

The brief was to design an engaging website concept design for the AHDB’s Potato Council. Their current website has a vast amount of content which users just couldn’t find, so a new user experience was called for. The challenge was to take something completely out of our comfort zone and make it engaging for a whole variety of users and levy payers.

Our Approach:

After a brainstorming session in the studio with the creative team we decided that it was paramount that the homepage had to have up-to-date content snippets giving vital information to a whole variety of users with different needs.

We decided on a customizable homepage, which allows users to tweak the content to their individual needs. This would allow users to remove, add and order content to how they saw fit, creating a truly personalized user experience.

The creative had to allow for the changing seasons so we designed the interface to change as the seasons changed, giving it a much more personal feel. We opted for a colour palette that suited the great outdoors, giving it an earthy, approachable warming feel to its colour psychology.

Results:

The results was a huge success for Be-Different, they of course won the tender and AHDB loved our creative work. The presentation technique truly showed them what the site can do and how it works in the form of a teaser video which we developed later on. We then continued to work on the site’s design, designing the internal page structures and advising on navigation, the user interface and mobile experience.

Be-Different continued to blow away their competition with both their digital strategy and creative supplied by ourselves. We went on to win pitches for the Simply Beef & Lamb website and EBLEX import and export website for pork.

We are really proud to say that we helped Be-Different to achieve their goals as a business by creating their creative work and wish them all the best in the future.

Project Brief:

Due to the recent success of the Talkmobile branding project we were asked to help drive sales through digital marketing channels by designing animated campaign banners for Google and Affiliate networks.

Our Approach:

Understanding that the mobile retail market is a very crowded place we opted for very bold messaging - without being too garish! We wanted to use the new brand to create some engaging banners that leap from the browser to encourage a high click-through rate and conversions. To complement the banners we felt Talkmobile's online presence had to match the tone and creative, so we pitched to our client to create a microsite to hold their exclusive deals. The site sits between their current shopping basket and the banners, thus improving the user experience.

Results:

The results were dramatic, we blew away the clients expectations on conversions, which is great news. The client has now chosen to push their marketing through a more digital avenue to complement their offline pursuits in the upcoming months. We have now created in excess of 300 online banners so far!

Background:

Gizzi is a chef, food writer, television presenter and all round food genius. She is best known for presenting Channel 4’s Cook Yourself Thin, of which there is a bestselling book of the same title, which she co-wrote.

Project Brief:

With our new relationship established with Marketing & communications consultants, Be Different, our first working collaboration was the concept and design of a new micro site for the British Eggs recipes website. The micro site aimed to showcase the talents of celebrity chef Gizzi Erskine, featuring recipes, videos, competitions, a blog and even more recipes.

Our Approach:

We always like to research our subject before we start any project and this was no different. After gaining further understanding of the overhaul of the subject 'Meals in Minutes', a creative buzz began to form within the studio. We wanted to design a site that represented Gizzi's personality, the subject and that achieved all the necessary specifications without sacrifice on a creative aspect. Working through several concepts, collating the collective thoughts of the tea*m and Be Different, a final concept was chosen to develop.

Results:

The site combines a rustic and traditional approach using the 'table top' background, complemented by the pastel colour palette, cute illustrations and strong typography, all lends the design to echo the quirky personality of Gizzi Erskine and has a friendly informative feel. The website gives users the chance to explore through a series of portals taking you through to sections and related articles, along with the basic navigation also features a carousel scrolling through the many recipes, creates a layered and immersive experience. A simple logo with lock up device was designed to bring a further branded element to the site along side clean photography.

This was a real team effort and we are very proud of the resulting design and hard work both parties put in to deliver a website that achieves its goal in all its egg-tastic glory.

Acasta Consulting
Project Details
Background:

Acasta Consulting provide confidential and independent consulting services to accountants, insolvency practitioners, banks and other financial institutions.

The practice is run by highly skilled chartered surveyors, with extensive experience and specialist knowledge in construction insolvency, property and development risk.

Project Brief:

Acasta approached us to discuss a possible website for their consultancy company in 2009. They wanted something to showcase what services they provide, share reports and findings and provide up to date news for their clients.

In 2010 Acasta knocked on the door of tea towers and asked to give their site another re-vamp. They wanted to simplify the content and strip the site down to it's bare essentials. Streamlining the user experience.

Our Approach:

We have built up a great relationship with the guys at Acasta over the past few years so we knew exactly what they were trying to achieve and who their target audience was, they didn't want to be seen as a boring corporate company a they want to offer a more creative solution to the businesses they help.

Results:

Acasta wanted a 'wow factor' and some way of presenting their dashboards and slideshow decks so we opted to use the image carousel which gave it a very modern feel that was non-obtrusive and exciting.

The finished site boosts the Acasta brand making them feel more cutting edge and approachable which makes them stand out in what is quite a stereotyped business type.

Alexander Leaman
Project Details
Background:

Alexander Leaman is one of the most in-demand wedding photographers in Surrey.

Project Brief:

Alexander Leaman approached us in Spring 2010 to design and build him a new website with a new content management system replacing his existing Flash website.

The site requirements were that it needed to be accessible, work on mobile devices and showed his portfolio off to the highest level. The work had to be the key focus and do all the talking!

Our Approach:

Our approach was to strip down his existing site to the main elements, which we agreed upon in the original consultation.

We chose to use the Drupal CMS system to power the site's back-end allowing the client control of his content pages, portfolio and blog.

Results:

The resulting website is very clean and minimal, the uncluttered feel to the site allows attention to be focused on the clients portfolio. Using silky transitions we cycle through a selection of fantastic images, giving the site and his work the WOW effect!

The client expressed his need for the site to work with him and reduce his workload, so all the images are resized and optimised server-side throughout the site. This reduces the editing amount for the client. We also integrated his social networking sites, in particular Twitter. This then feeds into his Facebook updates, streamlining his work load.

Orchid Events
Project Details
Background:

Orchid Events are London’s leading wedding and events organisers, taking the pressure off their hosts, whilst delivering stunning results that are truly bespoke.

Project Brief:

Orchid Events approached us in 2009 and asked us to give their online presence a boost by redesigning their existing website. Orchid Events also asked for an online planner to help their clients with their events.

Our Approach:

Our initial impression of their previous website was that it was bland and restrictive. The site didn’t allow the client any control, so we decided to use the Drupal CMS system to give them a really powerful, flexible solution.

Results:

We designed the website with a vibrant colour scheme, whilst taking care not to allow this to dominate the content. Our clients imagery was stunning and vibrant, so the website was designed to compliment and work with the imagery rather than fight it.

The planner allows individual clients to have complete control over their event, from the guest book to the budgets. We had to ensure the usability of this planner was straightforward and easy to pick up first time with as little tutorials as possible. From working closely with the client we found out that most of their customers like to have control on multiple events. For instance, at a wedding there would be a ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception, all with different guest lists, budgets and schedules. So the planner really had to be flexible to allow for this.

The client now uses their website as a multi-tool for their business, on the one hand the site markets their services and brand, and with the other it acts as an application allowing them to work closely with their clients to ensure the best in customer relationships.

Project Details
Background:

The Castle Partnership was formed in 2001 with the aim to deliver high quality professional advice to those who find themselves in trouble with the Police and Courts. The firm holds a contract with the Legal Services Commission to provide publicly funded representation to clients at the Police Station and Court.

Project Brief:

Our brief was to design a website in order to help build their brand and promote their services to the more private sector. They had a tight budget and needed to be able to easily update their website as and when they needed.

Our Approach:

Our approach was to look into a simple solution which was powerful enough for expansion and change. We opted to use WordPress as the main CMS engine as this was probably the best solution that would suit the clients needs.

After a working lunch with the client we tried to get to know them a bit better and discovered that they didn't fit the typical solicitor stereotype so we didn't want their website to be too corporate and formal. You could also tell that they were pretty close to their BlackBerry's so we again thought that using WordPress would suit them as it enables them to update their site from their mobile devices.

Results:

The final website is clean, bright and has a very approachable tone of voice. The use of local photography as a mast head brightened up the page and gave it an interesting focal point as the angle of the photo was quite unique.

The site is also converted when viewed on a mobile device allowing for faster downloads whilst the option to view the site in all its glory is available.

Project Details
Background:

Miscellany is a unique boutique gift shop based in Epsom, Surrey. They are an established retail outlet who have a good customer base, but wanted to take on the online world and spread their wings.

Project Brief:

The brief was to design and build a cute e-commerce store which enabled the client to sell a few of her items, from handbags to homemade jewellery to baby clothes.

Our Approach:

We opted to look into current styles, as the client saw herself as quite a fashion / trend focused outlet, and wanted her website to communicate this as part of her brand.

Due to the clients budget restraints we installed the e-commerce platform Zencart, which at the time was a powerful, free, open-source shopping cart, enabling the client complete control of her stock and SEO.

Results:

The design is elegant with a salvaged twist. The ornate patterns and deep colour tones really help communicate the clients brand. The use of product photography gives this website a unique but friendly feel.

The website has now taken a back seat within the clients business, as she has now opened up a new store offering unique furniture to her customers which is really booming. The client plans to pick things up again with Creativitea™ in Autumn 2010 and take her online store to the next level.

Project Details
Background:

Natterjacks are a mens fashion retailer based in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey. Rik built their original website while still attending university.

Project Brief:

Natterjacks asked us to look into their existing e-commerce store and bring it more up to date with fashionable trends. They have enjoyed many years of trading comfortably online and wanted to take their website to the next level.

Our Approach:

We wanted to give Natterjacks a site that was timeless, rather than something that would look great and on trend for a month or two then need changing again. So we concentrated on the usability of the site and how flexible their current e-commerce system was.

Results:

We decided to rebuild their previous ‘table based’ template to bring it up to current W3C Standards. Whilst looking into this we discovered that the current site wasn’t PCI Compliant, which had to be addressed by using a payment gateway to control payments.

The client expressed to us how they wanted to cut their workload with the site, so we worked closely with their till and stock control software provider to integrate the website into their system, allowing for live updates of stock across their 4 stores and online.

The website design was simple, allowing the product photography to stand out. Natterjacks sell the leading brands in fashion with unique items that really needed to be shown off by large images and good product descriptions, which didn’t allow for too much else that would effectively become noise.

The final result was an increase in traffic on launch of about 400% which slowly tailed off to an increase of 250% in their daily individual visitors whilst decreasing their bounce rate by 25%.

The site was also featured in the Design Week website news round up which was a great honour.
