Pantone name colour of the Year 2010

Pantone's colour of the year 2010

Pantone, the global authority on colour and provider of professional colour standards for the design industries, has announced PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise as the Colour of the Year for 2010.

The tranquil and calm qualities of blue and the strength and energy of green, turquoise holds a protective and healing meaning in many cultures, a colour of truth and faith. It’s also been researched that the colour is associated with the theme of escape. An example of this could be its frequent use in the travel industry; look at photographs of exotic get aways, places of fantasy, and you’ll probably see crystal clear, turquoise seas crashing against the golden colours of the sand.

We find turquoise to be the colour that you either love or hate, a lot like Marmite!!! However be sure to see a lot of it this year in all industries from design to fashion.
