2011: A Long Way for tea*

2011 was an important year for us. It marked tea’s* third birthday, a major milestone for any company, as statistically most businesses fail in their first three years. Overcoming that hurdle was a great achievement and testament to the hard work everyone has put in to make tea* what it is.

Having moved into our new studio the previous year, 2011 was more about getting through the growing pains of our new home: accommodating more equipment, more storage, and the welcoming of not one, not two, but three new members of staff! Adam Zygadlo joined us full time as a Senior Motion Graphics Designer, followed by professional Canadian Karl Ditschun as our new Brand & Marketing Manager, and last but not least is Michelle, who joined us in accounting: our first line of defence against the taxman!

During the year the company saw further growth with the introductions of motion graphic and business development departments, working with new clients GlaxoSmithKline, Freeview, CPP, Consult Hyperion and Activision to name a few, business reviews and company spotlights in leading newspapers, delving into mobile app technology & development and creating sister company QR Reactor; building on the foundations we have worked hard on to really push on with in the future. We were also witness to the rise and ultimate fall of Ballee-Ballee as a way of deciding the tea making process; a tale as old as time.

We don’t know what the future holds, but the past shows a tea*m dedicated to creativity and a steady rise in success: tea* was brewed strong from the beginning, but it’ll only get stronger as time goes on. Here’s to 2012!
